The November issue of the prestigious
Diapason Magazine has selected the recording of the complete orchestral works by the Czech composer Vítězslava Kaprálová, performed by the Janáček Philharmonic under the direction of
Alena Hron and released on the
German label cpo., as one of the outstanding new releases. It praises the new album in an extensive review: “Alena Hron’s light touch manages to highlight sharp harmonies and sudden rhythmic shifts. Throughout the pieces, the musicians from Ostrava move from melancholy to enthusiasm and from darkness to light with extraordinary ease. They surpass by far the few rival recordings (Supraphon, Naxos, etc.).”
– Anne Ibos-Augé, Diapason No. 738, s. 68
