Alena Hron Conducts the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at Ravinia Festival

Alena Hron makes her US debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra on 25th July. She will conduct George Walker’s Icarus in Orbit at the 3,350-capacity Pavilion at the Ravinia Festival, the orchestra’s annual summer residency. She shares the stage with Marin Alsop, Chief Conductor of the Festival and Hron’s mentor through the TAKI-Alsop Fellowship, of which she is the 2024-26 recipient.

Alena Hron has made history as the first woman in the Czech Republic to be appointed Chief Conductor, and will lead the South Czech Philharmonic from the 2024/25 season.
