Cricital Aclaim for Alena Hron’s Return to Prague Symphony Orchestra

Alena Hron received standing ovations and critical praise for her performance of Dvořák’s Stabat Mater with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Prague Philharmonic Choir. It is a tradition that the orchestra presents this work every Easter and, on this occasion, Alena Hron took the baton in what was already her third appearance with the Orchestra. She is already scheduled to conduct them again next season with two different programs.

Martin Jemelka in Polyaharmonie magazine writes “Alena Hron approached Dvořák’s work with respect, yet with confidence. Instead of obsessing with details, she focused on the composition as a whole, its inner pulse and direction of rhythm and tempi.[…] Uder her baton, the piece never stalled, it gained momentum with each segment.”
