VENUE NOTE
“Mozart, what a sunshine,” Antonín Dvořák said of the genius composer – and he was right. This is also evidenced by the famous Prague Symphony, which had its world premiere in Mozart’s favourite Prague. The premiere of the most famous Czech symphony, Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, took place at New York’s Carnegie Hall and was conducted by the Hungarian immigrant Seidl. We offer it to you in an authentic Czech rendition – and with the feeling that the music that lit up the world can also light up the final evening of our entire concert cycle.
