The recording of complete orchestral works by the young Czech composer Vítěslava Kaprálová on the cpo label, performed by the Janáček Philharmonic and conducted by Alena Hron, has been awarded the prestigous Diapason d’Or de l’Année in the category Artistic Project.
The same recording had also been shortlisted for this year’s Gramophone Awards.
Hron said, “I am very happy about this Award, especially for Vítězslava Kaprálová. Even though she only lived to be 25, she has left a significant musical trace behind her and her music deserves to be heard around the world. I can imagine how genuinly thrilled she would have been for this recognition. I also want to thank the team at the Janáček Philharmonic for trusting me with this recording and the musicians for an enjoyable and focused collaboration.”
